Busy day!

We have had such a busy week this week! We have been so lucky to have a play date all but one day. (We are so blessed to have found such wonderful friends here, most of which treat us like family ❤) And today, we had TWO!
Sophia fell asleep within minutes of our morning play date destination. I hoped that if I woke her and she played her little heart out with her friends, that she would pass back out in our way back home. I even took the extra long way, but no such luck. Fortunately, she was still in a decent mood for the rest of our day.
              At the bounce house

She ate a HUGE lunch, and shared it with her hair!

We headed to our second play date, a 4th birthday party for a sweet little girl that Sophia just adores. She always loves to play with the "big kids", and wants so badly to be involved in what they're doing. Slow down baby girl!!
As the birthday party came to an end, Sophia was already dragging me to the door to leave, and rubbing those precious baby brown eyes.
About 30 seconds after getting her ready for bed, she was completely passed out in my arms-she didn't even nurse!! I believe that is a record time for her falling asleep!!

Meet the Rockefeller's

                                                                    Our Little Family

This has been a long time goal of mine to start a blog, so here goes!

I recently turned the big 3-0 (yikes!), and am very proud of what I have accomplished thus far in my life. No, I don't feel "old", I have earned this age!  I have an AMAZING, active duty USCG (love a man in uniform!) husband  (who I will post much more about in the future), whom adores me (even the I can't even stand myself side!), and we have a beautiful, talented, stubborn, independent, smart (GENIUS I'd say!), just plain incredible [almost] 16 month old daughter together, Sophia.
                                                                  My little monkey <3

Nothing and no one could have prepared me for motherhood. I often thought I had everything figured out, before I even gave birth-heck,I thought I knew just about everything before we CONCEIVED this little angel of ours!! Most everything went out the window. No bed-sharing- she still sleeps with us for a few precious hours each morning, and I cherish those hours. I am only going to nurse her for a few months-still going strong at nearly 16 months (though, she is starting to wean, but I am ok with that, and very happy with the length of time I did get to nurse her).  No pacifiers-she had one before we left the hospital.  I could go on for days about what we thought was right before, and what IS right for all of us now. My point is, you are never really ready for this wonderful journey of parenthood. It's a wild and crazy ride, and I wouldn't trade a minute of it for ANYTHING!
Sophia gives me patience I never knew I had; strength to do whatever needs to be done; the scrunchy-nosed smiles to make even the worst days amazing. The love I feel for her is indescribable, and like no other, and she has shaped me into the mother she needs, the mother I am today.
